The Scottish Coastal Rowing Association.
The Scottish Coastal Rowing Association offers a growing community sport for all the family with a chance to build their own boat and be involved in many national rowing activities and venues.
Several groups have already been set up and taken part in Easter Ross and the Black Isle this year and the village of Cromarty, at the mouth of the Cromarty Firth was the venue for this year’s Black Isle Regatta. The regatta was organised jointly by The Avoch CRC (the Skiffies) and The Cromarty CRC, with significant contribution from the wider local community. Those who arrived on the Friday were treated to a spectacular acrobatic display by a small pod of dolphins 100m off shore from the beachside campsite. The welcome from the dolphins was really reflected in the welcome extended over the whole weekend by the Skiffies and Townsfolk of Cromarty.
Evanton resident Neil McKie is looking for anyone interested in forming an Evanton and District Coastal Rowing Club with the aim of joining the Scottish Coastal Rowing Association. If you are interested and looking for more details, please contact him at - nmckie@gmail.com - or phone Neil on 01349 830984.
